Celery
There are many reasons to eat celery, for example: it is rich in vitamins and minerals; it contains carbohydrates in the form of sugars, abundant dietary fiber and some protein; it helps relieve rheumatism, constipation and certain skin disorders; it helps cleanse the blood and improve circulation, and it is fresh, crunchy and tasty and is said to be a stimulant of male virility!

Elne celery is a hardy and productive variety, deeply rooted in its native terroir. Originating in the south of France, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, it takes its name from the town of Elne, located in the heart of the Roussillon plain. This southern origin gives it a distinctive character and an excellent capacity for adaptation when grown in good conditions.
The plant develops long, fleshy stalks that are perfectly smooth and round, distinguished by their firmness and visual appeal. Their texture is firm yet tender, and their flavor is particularly rich, marked by unique aromatic notes that have made this variety famous. Harvested at maturity, Elne celery offers a remarkable taste experience, both bold and balanced.
In the garden, this variety thrives in deep, rich, and consistently moist soils. Its relative hardiness and productivity make it a reliable celery choice, provided it receives regular growth and protection from water stress. When properly managed, it produces vigorous, uniform plants whose quality rivals the best traditional selections.
In the local area, Elne celery is seen as a plant of terroir and precision. It reminds us that certain varieties carry within them a strong local history, and that fidelity to growing conditions allows their full aromatic finesse and generosity to be revealed.
Originating from Asian horticultural traditions, Chinese Pink Celery displays its delicate pink hues, offering a spectacle that is both visual and gustatory. Its history is intertwined with that of heirloom varieties, reintroduced today for their authenticity and unique charm.
In the garden, this celery grows with an upright habit and fleshy stalks, combining elegance and sturdiness. Its moderate growth, accompanied by dark green foliage, gives it a discreet yet precious character, ideal for enriching the diversity of an ecological garden.
This delicately flavored vegetable makes its way into the kitchen to reveal its sweet, slightly aniseed flavor, bringing freshness and crunch to summer dishes.
Originally from Europe, Golden White Celery is an heirloom variety that has graced gardens with its brilliant white color and delicately sweet flavor. Prized for its fleshy, crisp stalks, it embodies the bounty of a root vegetable worthy of well-tended vegetable gardens and hearty soups.
In the garden, this discreetly elegant plant displays an upright habit and finely cut foliage, offering a very recognizable silhouette. Careful cultivation rewards the gardener with a long-lasting harvest, ideal for adding flavor and lightness to autumn and winter dishes.
'Redventure' celery is a modern creation that originated in the early 1990s in the United States, the result of the work of breeder Frank Morton . By crossing the old red-ribbed variety 'Giant Red' , renowned for its color but considered fibrous, with the milder and more vigorous green variety 'Ventura' , he created a stabilized hybrid variety that combines the colorful beauty of the old heritage with the taste quality of modern lines .
'Redventure' is prized for its deep red petioles , crisp flesh , balanced flavor , and excellent garden performance . Now a stabilized and open-pollinated variety, it is part of the growing trend of organic, reproducible seeds, acclaimed as much for its vigor as for its remarkable appearance.
