Dragon's Tail Radish - Organic
(0)
$4.49
Unit price / per Originally from Asia, the Dragon's Tail radish is shaking up our habits in the vegetable garden: here, it's not the roots that count, but the long, fleshy pods that come from its flowering .
In a living garden , it stands out for its upright and branching habit , laden with purple to greenish pods that lengthen and twist like small dragon tails .
Planted in welcoming, well-drained soil , it accompanies the cycle of the seasons with remarkable consistency: first classic radish foliage , then an abundance of flowers and edible pods . It brings an original presence to the garden , offering the curious gardener another way to connect with the radish , which is simultaneously a leafy vegetable, a pod vegetable, and a bee-friendly plant .
The pinkish-white flowers , perched on long stems, attract pollinators, while the pods become both a spectacle and a harvest. An aesthetic, generous, and intriguing plant.
Allow 30 to 60 cm in diameter per plant. Very easy to grow, it thrives in full sun or partial shade .

- Growing climate: Cool season
- Sowing difficulty level: Easy
- Care required: Occasional
- Growth: Rapid growth
Note: Like other radishes, it appreciates the cool temperatures of spring and autumn and can flower more quickly in hot weather.
The siliques (pods) are harvested young, when they are about the size of a pencil, to take advantage of their tenderness and crispness. As they age, they become more pungent, like a spicy radish meant to be eaten raw.
Enjoy!
• raw, in salads,
• quickly stir-fried or steamed,
• marinated in a vinegar mixture,
• and why not… as a light, crunchy condiment on a soup or hot dish.
The young leaves and flowers are also edible, with a delicately peppery taste.
A surprising, versatile, delicious and joyful radish.
