Manitoba Brown Soybeans - Organic
(0)
$4.49
Unit price / perOriginating from the great plains of North America, Manitoba Brown soybeans were selected to adapt to shorter summers and cool nights. In an organic vegetable garden, it takes the form of a small, unassuming yet prominent legume, developing a close relationship with the soil through its roots, which are associated with nitrogen-fixing bacteria.
Its brownish pods contain soybeans destined for processing (milk, tofu, etc.). In a nutrient bed, this variety contributes harmoniously to the garden: it fills the soil, structures the rows, and, like all legumes, helps to create more hospitable soil in the long term. When properly managed, it offers a tangible harvest within a single season, a reliable presence for those who wish to incorporate soybeans into a sustainable and respectful approach.

- Growing climate: Warm season
- Sowing difficulty level: Medium
- Care required: Regular
- Growth: Summer growth
Annotation: Variety developed for northern regions, earlier than many other soybeans, but still requires a hot and sunny summer.
Manitoba Brown soybeans are a brown-seeded soybean variety primarily intended for processing. The dried beans are used to make soy milk and tofu, following the common uses of grain soybeans.
Once the seeds are completely dry, they can be stored all winter in an airtight container and can be used as needed, after soaking and appropriate cooking, or transformed into plant-based milk and then tofu, in line with the culinary practices associated with grain soybeans.
