Eggplant Poamoho Dark Long - Organic
"A dark elegance that unfolds lengthwise, for gourmet and patient gardens."
The Poamoho Dark Long variety originated in Hawaii, where it was selected at the Poamoho Research Station of the University of Hawaii. It was developed to produce elongated fruit, a very uniform dark skin, and good productivity in hot and humid climates.
It is a variety adapted to tropical and subtropical conditions, but it also performs very well in temperate regions when it receives heat and sun.

- Growing climate: Temperate to warm climate
- Sowing difficulty level: Medium
- Care required: Regular
Note: Sensitive to low temperatures and waterlogged soils.
Generally eaten cooked, the Poamoho Dark Long eggplant is delicious grilled, sautéed, or in ratatouille. Its firm flesh also makes it suitable for gratins and stuffing. Traditionally, in some Hawaiian cultures, eggplant is also used as an accompaniment to vegetable or fish dishes. The skin is sometimes used for its vibrant colors in culinary decoration. The fruit doesn't keep well, so it's best to eat it fresh.
