Szentesi Cherry Pepper - Organic
(0)
$4.49
Unit price / perOriginally from Hungary, the Szentesi Cherry pepper is a cherry-type variety that has become popular in vegetable gardens for its small, round, bright red fruits when ripe. In a thriving garden, its compact plants produce an abundance of fleshy balls that stand out sharply against the green foliage, adding a warm touch to the heart of the summer season.
In a nurturing environment, this chili pepper behaves like a reliable plant: it produces generously after the first warm days and allows for repeated harvests. Adapted to gardens in cooler climates when started indoors, it naturally lends itself to a respectful cultivation approach, where the plant is nurtured from sowing to harvest by observing the seasonal cycle.

Originally from Hungary, the Szentesi Cherry pepper is a cherry-type variety that has become popular in vegetable gardens for its small, round, bright red fruits when ripe. In a thriving garden, its compact plants produce an abundance of fleshy balls that stand out sharply against the green foliage, adding a warm touch to the heart of the summer season.

Adapted to gardens in cooler climates when started indoors, it naturally lends itself to a respectful cultivation approach, where the plant is nurtured from sowing to harvest by observing the seasonal cycle.
- Growing climate: Warm season
- Sowing difficulty level: Medium
- Care required: Regular
- Growth: Summer growth
Note: Like all chili peppers, it needs constant heat to fruit well and appreciates warm, well-drained soil.
The Szentesi Cherry pepper, with its small, round, cherry-like fruits, is well-suited to both fresh and lightly processed dishes. The ripe, red fruits are used whole or chopped to enhance sauces, stews, garnishes, and marinades. Their compact shape also makes them ideal for pickling or preserving, according to traditional culinary practices associated with cherry peppers. The fruits can also be gently dried and then crumbled or ground to create a spicy seasoning.
As with all chili peppers, it is recommended to handle the fruit with a minimum of precautions (avoid contact with the eyes, wash your hands after preparation).
