- Growing climate: Warm season
- Sowing difficulty level: Medium
- Care required: Regular
- Growth: Summer growth
Note: Sensitive to cold; needs well-warmed soil and a sufficiently long season to ripen properly.
The Marconi Red is an exceptional sweet pepper. Its firm, sweet flesh makes it irresistible sliced fresh in salads, but also grilled, stuffed, or roasted whole to accompany family meals. In Italy, it is often fried or marinated, absorbing the aromas of olive oil, garlic, and herbs.
This variety is at its best when fully ripe and red, but its fruits are also delicious harvested earlier, while still green. Their versatility makes this pepper a summer staple. It keeps for a few days in the refrigerator and can also be frozen in strips to extend the harvest.
